Denture Creams such as Super Poligrip, Fixodent and Others, May Be Associated With Paralysis, Numbness, Tingling, Muscle Weakness And Other Neurological Issues.
Or You May Be Diagnosed With Zinc Poisoning, Reduced Copper Levels, Neuropathy, Anemia Or Bone Marrow Failure.
The severe copper deficiency caused by denture cream zinc poisoning can mask itself as Pre Leukemia. Pre Leukemia refers to a group of hematological conditions united by ineffective production of myeloid blood cells and risk of transformation to acute myelogenous leukemia. When severe, copper deficiency can cause symptoms of anemia and susceptibility to infections, similar to what is seen with Pre Leukemia.
Pre Leukemia is an affliction that targets the bone marrow, resulting in an increased number of ineffective red and white blood cells. Usually, the cells blast and produce from the stem cells while multiplying in the blood stream, eventually killing the normal blood cells. This results in an irregular production of blood cells, causing fewer blood cells to form (which are needed to circulate and carry oxygen to different body parts).
Pre Leukemia is characterized by the bone marrow's inability to produce sufficient amounts of blood cells. Copper acts as a catalyst in the formation of hemoglobin, the oxygen-carrying blood component. Deficiency of copper from denture cream zinc poisoning leads to depletion of oxygen in the cells, which in turn can lead to anemia that mimics the condition of Pre Leukemia.
Symptoms of copper deficiency and Pre Leukemia include fatigue, anemia, and a decreased number of white blood cells. Victims of both Pre Leukemia and copper deficiency often struggle with fatigue that can at times be overwhelming. Because copper deficiency adversely impacts the number of white blood cells, it is often mistaken for Pre Leukemia.
Pre Leukemia is often seen in people who are most at risk for denture cream zinc poisoning. Pre Leukemia generally affects adults over 50, while people in this age group who used excessive amounts of denture adhesives are among the most likely to be stricken by denture cream neuropathy.
Only blood tests to determine zinc and copper levels will determine if anemia, fatigue and immune system problems are the result of copper deficiency associated with denture cream zinc poisoning. If you have used denture adhesives for a long period of time, and are experiencing symptoms similar to Pre Leukemia, be sure to ask for these tests.
